EastEnders is set for dramatic scenes next week as Alfie Moon's lie about his whereabouts is exposed. After marrying Kat Slater, Alfie claimed he was heading to Australia to see Spencer, but viewers know he is actually in Barcelona searching for Zoe Slater.
Kat grows suspicious when she cannot reach Alfie and Spencer acts evasively. Stacey Slater returns and initially covers for Alfie, but Jean accidentally reveals Stacey took a call from him. Kat confronts Stacey, leading to the truth emerging.
Michelle Ryan recently reprised her role as Zoe Slater after 20 years, appearing in two episodes before heading to Barcelona. It has been confirmed that Zoe will make a permanent return later this summer, with Ryan already filming.
New executive producer Ben Wadey said: "Before I even stepped into the role, Zoe Slater was on my wish-list of returnees. I was absolutely delighted when Michelle agreed to return."
