EastEnders’ Vicki Fowler Returns to Walford After 20 Years with New Family

Vicki Fowler is set to make a dramatic return to Albert Square after more than 20 years, arriving for her uncle Martin’s funeral with her new boyfriend Ross and his son Joel. The character, last seen in 2004, was living in Australia with long-term partner Spencer Moon, so her arrival with a new man shocks sister Sharon and Spencer’s brother Alfie.

As the daughter of Michelle Fowler and Dirty Den Watts, Vicki’s life has been full of drama. Now, she returns under tragic circumstances, representing her mother Michelle, who is too distraught to attend. Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said: “Vicki is back under the most tragic of circumstances... she’s changed a lot since we last saw her.”

Alice Haig, who takes on the role of Vicki, expressed her excitement: “I am so excited... It’s so cool to be playing a character like Vicki - we think we know her, but a lot has changed.” Alex Walkinshaw, playing Ross, described his character as “a decent, hardworking family man” who is “very in love with Vicki, but it’s not always plain sailing.”

Max Murray, who plays Joel, said: “It’s an absolute privilege and honour to be joining such a wonderful production... I’m really looking forward to introducing Joel to EastEnders viewers and telling his story.” The new arrivals are expected to cause waves in Walford as Vicki and her new family settle in.
