Joel Beckett is reprising his role as Jake Moon in EastEnders for a short stint, marking the character's return to Albert Square after two decades. The actor's comeback is set for February, with a storyline described as full of "real twists and turns."
Jake returns seeking answers about what really happened at Christmas, but he becomes embroiled in conflicting versions of events. He soon begins to question the woman he loves, and his conscience weighs heavily as he grapples with what to do for the sake of his family.
Beckett said: "It was really lovely to step back onto the Square after all this time and revisit Jake. Being back working alongside familiar faces, as well as some brilliant new ones, was a real joy... He returns carrying plenty of unanswered questions and the storyline takes him in some unexpected directions."
Executive producer Ben Wadey added: "I'm delighted to welcome Joel Beckett back to the role of Jake Moon... Jake's return will be a shock for many, but the biggest shocks of all will surround Jake and what he discovers about Christmas."
