EastEnders has dropped its biggest clue yet about newcomer Jasmine Fisher, revealing that she is not Cindy's daughter but is connected to Jackie Ford, a former cellmate of Cindy's. The clue comes just before scenes in Monday's episode (24 November) where Jasmine's obsession with Cindy Beale spells danger for the iconic character.
Jasmine (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) first appeared in Walford at the end of September, quickly arousing suspicion due to her intense interest in Cindy (Michelle Collins). Despite Cindy's initial support, tensions escalated when she discovered Jasmine's National Insurance number was incorrect. In tonight's episode, Cindy's investigation leads her to Jasmine's mother, Anita, but the meeting only deepens her fears that Jasmine is linked to Jackie Ford.
In 1998, Cindy and Jackie shared a prison cell. Cindy later became an informant, betraying Jackie's crimes and ensuring a longer sentence. After 25 years in witness protection, Cindy believes the Fords have sent Jasmine for revenge. Desperate, she begs Ian to help hide her children, but her confrontation with Jasmine ends with Cindy being pushed down the stairs, her life hanging in the balance.
Fans had previously theorised that Jasmine might be Cindy's secret daughter, with one viewer commenting, 'So who is with me thinking that Jasmine is actually Cindy’s secret daughter?' Others suggested she could be the daughter of Zoe Slater, who thought her child died. However, after the latest episode, many now believe Jasmine is Jackie Ford's biological daughter, seeking vengeance.
One viewer tweeted: 'I'm also convinced that Anita isn't Jasmine's real mother - maybe a foster mother or Jasmine was adopted making Jackie Ford her biological mother?' Another added: 'Jackie Ford was Jasmine's real mum and this is why she wants revenge on Cindy.' The dramatic push has delighted some fans, who see it as karma for Cindy's past actions.
