EastEnders fans are set for an emotional week as Nigel Bates reaches his final days. Grant Mitchell faces a race against time to persuade his brother Phil to say goodbye to their dearest friend.
Phil Mitchell is refusing to visit Nigel, unable to bear the reality of his death. Mark takes the initiative and contacts his estranged dad Grant, who speeds into the Square. When Grant visits Nigel, he is horrified by how much he has deteriorated and angry that Phil didn't tell him sooner.
Julie makes the hardest decision of her life to stop Nigel's treatment. Grant finds Phil at a special beach from their past. After a heartfelt conversation, Phil agrees to make the final visit. He races to the care home and arrives just in time to see Nigel slip peacefully away.
In the aftermath, the community gathers to celebrate Nigel's life. Phil struggles with his grief, and Grant is gravely concerned about his brother's mental health, fearing Nigel's death could send Phil spiralling into old damaging behaviours.
