EastEnders viewers are growing worried for Priya Nandra-Hart after her secret affair with Max Branning was exposed, with many predicting a fatal outcome for the Walford resident.
The BBC soap has been building up the steamy romance between love-rat Max (Jake Wood) and Priya (Sophie Khan Levy), who is set to marry his fiancée Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). The pair have kept their relationship under wraps, but their luck ran out during Wednesday's (August 5) episode when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) arrived at Max's flat for a spring clean and found a naked Priya inside.
Jean's harsh warning
The following day, Priya tried to persuade Jean to stay quiet, but instead received some blunt truths about Max. "Max is a fire that will burn your life to the ground," Jean warned, also revealing that Max had an affair with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) behind the back of his son, Bradley (Charlie Clements). When Priya told Max that Jean knew, he was furious.
This drama is building towards a dramatic New Year's Day 2027, as seen in a flash-forward episode. The car dealer is set to marry on January 1st, though his bride's identity remains a mystery. The flash-forward also showed an unidentified pregnant woman in a bed, while Max was under arrest for solicitation to murder, with a gunman aiming a weapon at him.
Fan theories point to deadly twist
Fans are now suggesting that Max could try to kill Priya, with her ex-partner Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) seeking revenge on Max, but Priya's true fate remains unknown.
Taking to X, one person wrote: "I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't foreshadowing something bad happening to Priya because of this Max affair #EastEnders."
A second added: "IF Priya isn't the pregnant woman in Max's bed & she dies or something happens to Avani/Nugget, it gives Ravi motive to target Lauren/Oscar, for Max to choose - a child for a child, say Ravi/Priya had to choose which child save - Ravi makes Max go through what he did. #EastEnders."
On Reddit, one viewer asked: "What if the solicitation to murder victim is Priya (who's not actually dead)?" Another agreed: "This is a good theory, I like it! My first thought last night was he was going to try and get Jean killed so she didn't tell Cindy but this one sounds a lot more exciting."
One fan predicted: "I think it's been posted before but probably not as detailed as this! I think Ravi must find out Priya is pregnant before the 'murder' and believes the baby must be his, which is why his threat on NYD is to kill one of Max's children."
