EastEnders' DC Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) will cross a line with Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) next week as he investigates the attack on Joel Marshall (Max Murray).
Amy is one of several Walford teens suspected of assaulting Joel, who was locked up and humiliated by the group after his crimes against Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James). None of the teens—Amy, Avani, Denzel Danes (Jaden Luke Ladega), Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman), Ricky Branning (Frankie Day), Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips), Lily Slater (Lillia Turner), and Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury)—has confessed to the near-fatal blow.
Craig's suspicious closeness
Craig, who is leading the case, stumbles upon a secret meeting of the teens on Monday, but they disperse before he can question them. Later, he has a private chat with Amy, but Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) spots them and intervenes. Craig lies, claiming he was checking on Amy's welfare.
Tensions rise as the teens turn on each other after Lily speaks to Craig. Following an explosive argument, Amy storms off from Jack at No. 27. Craig then spots her confiding in Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and offers a shoulder to cry on, crossing a professional line.
A bombshell revelation
During their park conversation, Amy drops a bombshell that could turn the case on its head, leaving Craig to decide what to do with the information.
Matthew James Bailey, known for playing Ethan Williams on Hollyoaks from 2021 to 2024, said of joining EastEnders: 'Joining EastEnders has been a dream come true. From it being the soundtrack to my childhood, always on in the background at home, to gathering around the TV with my family every Christmas, being able to play even a small part in such an iconic piece of British television is truly surreal.'
