EastEnders' Anthony Trueman to Make a Walford Comeback
EastEnders' Anthony Trueman to Make a Walford Comeback

EastEnders fans are in for a treat as Nicholas Bailey reprises his role as Anthony Trueman after an 11-year absence. The character will return this summer to attend his father Patrick Trueman's wedding to Yolande.

Anthony last appeared in Walford in 2014 when he rushed to Patrick’s side following a stroke. Since then, he has been living away from the Square, but an invitation to the nuptials brings him back. However, his visit takes an unexpected turn when he discovers what has been happening in the Trueman household, prompting him to extend his stay.

EastEnders Executive Producer Ben Wadey expressed delight at welcoming Nicholas back: 'It’s great to welcome Nicholas back to the EastEnders family to reunite Patrick with his son. But Anthony’s plan for a brief return to surprise his father ends up with him staying longer than he expected when he uncovers what has been going on.'

Nicholas Bailey shared his excitement about the return: 'It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I’m full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony. It’s wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again - he’s such a big part of my journey as an actor.' He added that he is eager to explore Anthony's relationship with Patrick at this stage in their lives.

Filming has already commenced, and Anthony Trueman's scenes are set to air later this summer.
