Adjani Salmon's acclaimed comedy drama about life as a Black British creative returns to BBC Three. The new series sees protagonist Kwabena seemingly on the verge of a breakthrough, but his new job directing a period drama quickly becomes a source of headaches. Among the challenges is figuring out how his acting hero Rudolph Williams, a Black man played by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, can portray a role originally written as a white slave-owner.
The show continues to explore themes of identity and ambition with sharp wit and emotional depth. Critics have praised the series for its authentic portrayal of the struggles faced by Black creatives in the industry.
Dreaming Whilst Black airs tonight on BBC Three at 10pm.
