RuPaul's Drag Race UK is returning to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer this autumn for a seventh series, with twelve new queens competing over ten weeks to be crowned the UK's Next Drag Race Superstar. The award-winning series will see the hopefuls take on a variety of challenges and games designed to test their drag skills, with weekly winners earning a coveted RuPeter badge and the bottom queens facing a Lip Sync For Their Life and possible elimination.
RuPaul, known affectionately as Mama Ru, leads the judging panel alongside regulars Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton, with a host of special celebrity guest judges also set to appear. The panel deliberates on the queens' fates, but it is RuPaul who has the final say on who stays or sashays away. A Meet the Queens: Series 7 special (1x20') is available now on BBC iPlayer and airs on BBC Three at 9pm on Sunday 24 August, with the series premiere date to be announced in due course.
Among the new arrivals is Catrin Feelings, a 26-year-old 'blonde bilingual bombshell' from the Rhondda Valleys in South Wales. She says her drag is full of 'camp classics', 'nana humour' and sparkles, and she is confident of winning the Snatch Game challenge. 'I wanted a pun and something Welsh,' she explains of her name, which came from a Little Mix song. 'It's about time to have a bit more Welsh campness in the show!' she adds.
Also competing is Tayris Mongardi, a 27-year-old self-styled 'Titan of Brighton', whose drag celebrates Black female pop culture, inspired by icons such as Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion and Grace Jones. She describes herself as having 'all the glamour of an uptown girl, and all the charm of a downtown girl'.
