Disney Plus has shared a first look at the Rooneys' new TV series. 'The Real Rooneys' will premiere on Thursday, September 24 and will take viewers behind the scenes of Wayne and Coleen's busy life with their four children, Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass.
Inside the Rooneys' pivotal year
The description for the series reads: "In the 10-episode series, Coleen and Wayne Rooney have invited cameras into their home for a pivotal year in their lives."
"It's all change as Wayne steps away from football management, swapping the touchline for school runs, while Coleen embraces the biggest opportunities of her career, including designing her own Primark range."
"With unprecedented access, we follow the family through the highs and lows of married life, raising four lively boys, and supporting eldest son Kai as he pursues his own footballing dream."
What viewers can expect
"Along the way come surprising personal revelations, career-defining moments, lavish celebrations and unforgettable family holidays. From their Cheshire home to the beaches of Barbados and the snowy Alps, this is Britain's most famous and private family as never seen before: warm, funny and authentic."
Viewers will be able to stream Episodes 1-8 exclusively on Disney+ on 24th September, with two special episodes available to stream on 1st October.
In a teaser video shared, Coleen can be heard telling the cameras: "It's hectic, it's mad. Not much peace and quiet here. No one knows the real Rooneys. This is a side of us we've never shown before."
Fan excitement and family milestones
Fans have already displayed their excitement on social media ahead of the release date. On Instagram, one said: "Yesss for years I've been saying to folk the Rooneys need their own show finally buzzing to see it xx." A second said: "Can't wait" and a third added: "Looking forward to this."
It's been a busy year for the family, with Coleen launching two collections with Primark. Meanwhile, Kai received his GCSE results last week and the family took to social media to share their love and support.
Sharing the picture with her 1.5 million followers, Coleen said: "GCSE results day!! Super proud @kairooney.10. Great results especially with a busy schedule, well done... a place in 6th form!! We love you."
Kai is the eldest of Coleen and Wayne's four sons. The couple also have Klay, 13, Kit, 10, and Cass, eight. The family live at their Cheshire home near Knutsford, where their property includes around 40 acres of land and a full-sized football pitch.
On July 7 this year, Kai signed a first-year scholarship contract with Manchester United. He shared a post on Instagram to mark the exciting new chapter. He said: "Work starts now." Kai will be following in the footsteps of his dad, who will go down in history as one of the greatest players of his generation.
