Dianne Buswell supported after emotional return to Strictly Come Dancing
Dianne Buswell supported over son message as she returns to Strictly

Dianne Buswell has received a flood of supportive messages after she made an emotional comment about leaving her son for the first time as she headed back to work on Strictly Come Dancing.

Return to Strictly

It was confirmed earlier this year that the professional dancer will return to the BBC One dance contest when it returns in September for the all-new 2026 series. However, work on Strictly's next run actually gets underway on Monday (July 27), when all the show's pros reunite to rehearse before recording group routines for the upcoming series. It was confirmed in May that Dianne will be among the professional dancers returning for Strictly's 2026 series, which will be hosted for the first time by Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Josh Widdicombe.

Emotional Instagram post

Taking to Instagram on Monday morning, Dianne shared a picture of herself with her son, Bowden, and appeared emotional as she prepared to go back to work. She wrote alongside the image: "First day back at work [face holding back tears emoji]. Mummy will miss you so much my boy [heart emoji]." The post received a strong response, and she later followed up with a selfie and wrote: "So many lovely positive msgs from other mummas. Thank you all. Means a lot."

New hair transformation

It comes after Dianne was seen preparing for her Strictly return as she showcased her new look at the end of last week. The new mum shared snaps on Instagram on Friday (July 24) in which she had ditched her vibrant red tresses for what she called "mahogany smoke." She captioned the photos: "When mahogany smoke is the new red! My team need some love for creating this look. Thank you @dylanjamesdonnelly_hair for the beautiful colour and my girl @vickydemetriouhair for blending and enhancing the colour so much with her extension expertise using @greatlengthsuk_ie I’m obsessed [love heart eyes emojis]. I vlogged the whole transformation and vlog is now live !!! Go check it out [purple heart emoji] @larrykinglondon." The compliments came flooding in from Strictly co-stars Jowita Przystal, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas, and former pro Joanne Clifton.
