Gary Wilmot, known for his role in Midsomer Murders, is set to appear in the upcoming fifteenth series of Death in Paradise. The actor will feature in the seventh episode as a character named Anton. Wilmot previously starred in the Midsomer Murders episode “Treasures of Darkness” as Rufus Coulter, which aired in late 2025.
The new series will also see Strictly Come Dancing star Sarah Hadland make a guest appearance in the first episode. Don Gilet returns as Detective Mervin Wilson, alongside Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, and Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey. Shaquille Ali-Yebuah reprises his role as Officer Sebastian Rose, with newcomer Catherine Garton joining as Sergeant Mattie Fletcher.
Notably absent from the upcoming series is Jinny Holder, who has previously portrayed Officer Darlene Curtis. A host of other guest stars are confirmed, including Siobhan Finneran, Hermione Norris, Steffan Rhodri, Ben Willbond, and Tim McMullan. Additional names include Julian Rhind-Tutt, Ace Bhatti, Louis Davison, Scarlett Alice Johnson, Sean Delaney, Lizzie Davidson, Kojo Kamara, Layo-Christina Akinlude, and Sandra James-Young.
The official synopsis reveals that DI Mervin Wilson continues to adjust to life in Saint Marie while facing baffling cases. His attempts to connect with his recently discovered half-brother Solomon, played by Daniel Ward, turn to frustration as he realises they are not as similar as hoped. Meanwhile, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson confronts the impact of his recent absence, with Catherine Bordey offering tough love to help him regain the island’s trust.
DS Naomi Thomas and Officer Sebastian Rose assist new recruit Sergeant Mattie Fletcher in settling into the team, though shadows from her past begin to surface. Death in Paradise is currently available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
