The 'quirky' Australian black comedy crime drama Deadloch has returned for a second series on Prime Video, earning praise from critics and viewers alike. The show, which first premiered in 2023, follows detectives Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe as they investigate a murder in the fictional Tasmanian town of Deadloch.
Season two takes a 'gothic' turn, moving the action to the Northern Territory. The duo travel to Darwin to probe the death of Eddie's former colleague, but their plans shift when human remains are discovered in a remote settlement called Barra Creek. The new setting introduces crocodile-fuelled tourism, Indigenous rangers, and prehistoric predators.
Fans have taken to social media to express their delight. One X user wrote: 'I'm obsessed with watching #Deadloch season 2,' while another added: '#Deadloch season 2 is as chaotic as I'd hoped.' An IMDb reviewer commented: 'I need more seasons! ... This has to be everyone's favourite show.'
Critics have also been impressed, with The Telegraph labelling it 'the best murder mystery on TV' and Decider praising its 'wickedly funny' cast. Hollywood star Luke Hemsworth has joined the ensemble for the second series.
