David Harbour has joined the cast of 'John Rambo', an upcoming action film that serves as an origin story for the iconic character, set before the events of the 1982 film 'First Blood'. The film stars Noah Centineo as the young Vietnam veteran.
According to Variety, Harbour will play Major Trautman, Rambo's commanding officer. The film is directed by Jalmari Helander and also features actors including Yao, Jason Tobin, Jefferson White, and Tayme Thapthimthong.
Noah Centineo, known for the 'To All the Boys' franchise and Netflix's 'The Recruit', takes on the role made famous by Sylvester Stallone, who played Rambo in five films from 1982 to 2019.
Harbour, best known for his roles in 'Stranger Things' and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will reprise his role as Red Guardian in 'Avengers: Doomsday', scheduled for release in December.
