EastEnders star Danny Dyer and his daughter Dani Dyer have expressed their astonishment and delight after their new Sky television series, The Dyers' Caravan Park, shattered viewing records, leading to an immediate commission for a second series. The show, which premiered just last month, has been confirmed as Sky's most successful original unscripted entertainment launch in half a decade.
Reviving the Great British Holiday
The series follows Danny, 48, and Dani, 29, as they invest their own money, time, and considerable effort into revitalising Priory Hill caravan park in Leysdown, Kent. Driven by Danny's nostalgic memories of family caravan holidays in the 1980s, the duo aims to restore the spirit of the classic British seaside break. The park, alongside Nutts Farm, reopened its gates this week, with the father-daughter team returning with ambitious new plans for the site.
Record-Breaking Launch Success
Sky has announced that the debut of The Dyers' Caravan Park represents the broadcaster's largest entertainment series launch since Never Mind the Buzzcocks in 2021. This remarkable achievement has secured a swift renewal, with series two already in development. The show airs on Tuesday evenings on Sky and the streaming service NOW.
In response to the news, an elated Danny Dyer stated: "We can’t believe the love you’ve all shown to our Caravan site. So, we’re coming back. Roll on the Summer of all Summers." Dani Dyer added: "Coming back for Series 2 of Dyer’s Caravan Park feels so special. Thank you for all the love and support it honestly means everything. We’re so ready for another season of fun, chaos and a bit of Dyer madness."
Sky Executives Praise the Dyers' Passion
Shirley Jones, Commissioning Editor at Sky, credited the show's success to the dynamic between its stars and the local community. "The Dyers’ Caravan Park delivered Sky’s biggest entertainment launch in five years, and that’s down to Danny and Dani’s unmistakable passion and the brilliant community at Priory Hill & Nutts Farm that surrounds them," she said.
"We’re incredibly proud of the outstanding team both on and off screen who bring such humour, heart and craft to the series. We are all very excited to bring audiences along for another brilliant stay, full of challenges, and no doubt a bit of chaos, at the park next year."
The forthcoming second series promises to continue offering a heartfelt and entertaining exploration of the effort required to rejuvenate the traditional British holiday, all delivered with the Dyers' signature warmth and humour.
