EastEnders fans are abuzz after Danny Dyer dropped a strong hint that he may be returning to Albert Square as Mick Carter. The 46-year-old actor, who played the iconic character for nearly a decade, commented on a social media post by co-star Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter.
Bright shared a behind-the-scenes photo of herself in character, wearing a T-shirt referencing the Christmas storyline that read “I killed Keanu.” Dyer responded: “Oh L….Bring Mick back,” followed by a broken heart emoji. The comment garnered over 3,000 likes and sparked excitement among fans.
Mick Carter seemingly drowned after jumping into the sea to save his ex-wife Linda, who had already reached safety. No body was ever found, leaving the door open for a potential return. Executive producer Chris Clenshaw has previously remarked: “It's a soap, anything can happen! There wasn't a body so there's every chance.”
Dyer himself has said: “Anything is possible. Where would he have gone to? He can't swim. I found it a bit odd.” Fans have speculated that Mick could have washed up with amnesia, echoing past soap resurrections like Dirty Den's return from the canal.
