Coronation Street's leading ladies gathered to celebrate Alison King's 50th birthday, with the actress who plays Carla Connor enjoying a night out with her co-stars.
Samia Longchambon, who portrays Maria Connor, shared a photo on Instagram of herself alongside Julia Goulding, Alison King, Jane Danson, Tina O'Brien and Georgia Taylor. The group posed with drinks against a city skyline backdrop. Samia captioned the image: 'Celebrated our awesome Ali Kings’ birthday with these queens last night.'
Fans praised the gathering, with one commenting: 'My favourite group of actresses all together!!!! where’s Maureen???' Another called the photo 'fabulous', while others wished Alison a happy birthday.
Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt, has returned to the soap after maternity leave. She gave birth to her second child, a daughter named Emmeline Beanie Silver, in November. Speaking to What to Watch, Julia said: 'My husband is on paternity leave as we’re doing shared parental leave, so I get to come to work and have an actual hot cup of tea without having a child hanging off me.'
Shona left the cobbles in January to take her stepdaughter Lily to a football training camp but returned amidst Max's sentencing over a stabbing at Speed Daal. Julia noted that her character has gone through huge changes, including memory loss after being shot in 2019.
