Coronation Street viewers have been quick to compliment actress Jodie Prenger on her noticeable weight loss, with many taking to social media to share their admiration. The actress, who plays Glenda Shuttleworth on the ITV soap, appeared in Monday's episode and sparked a flurry of comments on a dedicated Facebook fan page.
One fan remarked: "Anyone else notice Jodie Prenger's weight loss? She's one of my favourites. She's fab as 'Glenda'." Others echoed the sentiment, with comments such as "Yes I did, beautiful Lady she is" and "Yep, she's looking great!" Jodie, who rose to fame after winning the BBC competition I'd Do Anything in 2008, joined Coronation Street in 2022. Upon her arrival, she described landing the role as a dream come true, saying: "It's been on my bucket list to be in Coronation Street since I was little. It's an honour, it truly is a very special moment in my life."
Her character Glenda is the daughter of Archie Shuttleworth and sister to George, played by Tony Maudsley. Since joining, Glenda has become a barmaid at the Rovers Return and has been involved in storylines including a robbery at the pub and a brief romance with Michael Bailey. In the latest episode, she spotted George's girlfriend Christina Boyd speaking to someone in a parked car.
