Coronation Street viewers believe they have identified the mystery caller harassing newcomer Jodie Ramsey, linking the storyline to Emmerdale’s Graham Foster. Jodie debuted on the ITV soap last week and was subjected to a series of intrusive phone calls, culminating in a panic attack during Monday’s episode.
The speculation follows a historic crossover episode earlier this month, where it was revealed that Graham Foster, thought to have been murdered on Emmerdale years ago, was still alive. Jodie was seen tied up in the back of his van before arriving in Weatherfield and revealing herself as the long-lost sister of Shona Platt.
Fans took to Reddit to share theories, with one writing: “Calling it now it’s graham foster! surely he wouldnt have just let her go after all that!” Another agreed, saying: “Graham would be my guess but if she was captive in that van would she still have her phone anyway.” Others suggested sex trafficker Nathan Curtis, who previously targeted David’s niece Bethany, though he is currently in prison.
Some viewers expressed frustration at the ‘long-lost relative’ trope, which has been used frequently in recent years. Characters such as Bernie Winter, Kit Green, and Bobby Crawford have all been revealed as previously unknown relatives. Jodie’s sudden appearance and the matching tree of life tattoos have only deepened suspicions that there is more to the story.
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream from 7am on ITV X.
