Next week on Coronation Street, the fallout from the attack on DI Costello intensifies. As Costello remains in a coma, his attacker appears to be unmasked, but sinister scenes see the culprit return to finish the job, only to be caught out.
Becky Swain is clearly hiding something. Lisa Swain tells her ex that they may have traced the lad who attacked Costello, known as Soap. Becky pretends not to know him but soon meets with Soap, who has Costello's burner and personal phone. As police sirens are heard, Becky heads to the hospital intent on killing Costello to silence him.
Checking the coast is clear, Becky grabs a syringe, clearly intending to kill Costello before he regains consciousness. However, Lisa walks in on her, raising questions about whether she will realise what is happening and expose Becky.
Kit Green tells Carla Connor that he knows Becky is involved in the attack but without Costello's phone, it will be difficult to prove. Becky has the devices and tries to get the passcode from Costello's daughter. When Kit tells Lisa they have located Costello's phone, the race is on to retrieve it before Becky can destroy evidence.
Meanwhile, Debbie Webster panics when she cannot access her laptop for a Women in Business speech. After giving access to her brother Carl, she delivers a heartfelt speech revealing her dementia diagnosis. Elsewhere, Roy Cropper is unnerved, Dee-Dee Bailey dumps Ollie Driscoll, and Eva Price and Maria Connor's feud reignites.
