Coronation Street actress Samia Longchambon has revealed she sprained her ankle just before a photoshoot, requiring assistance from co-stars. The 41-year-old, known for playing Maria Connor, shared an image of her injury on Instagram Stories, showing an ice pack strapped to her ankle. She wrote: 'Fell over and sprained my ankle just before a photoshoot... Smiled (grimaced) my way through today.'
Longchambon thanked colleagues including Jodie Prenger, whose eye mask she borrowed to hold the ice pack, and others who helped her. She later posted a picture of her resting with her foot bandaged and elevated, captioned 'Resting'.
The incident comes after the actress previously opened up about a 'supernatural experience' on the night her grandmother died. She told My Weekly magazine that heavy china ornaments on a mantlepiece 'suddenly started moving' while she was with her parents. The ornaments, bought by her mother in her grandmother's company, had not moved before or since.
Longchambon recalled her mother saying 'bye, mum', believing it was her grandmother saying goodbye. She described it as 'the strangest thing' but 'comforting'. The actress, who won Cooking with the Stars, celebrated her seventh wedding anniversary with husband Sylvian in August last year.
