On Monday, September 28, Sam is on edge after the incident, and his anxiety worsens when news reaches Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). While waiting at the bus stop, watching a police car outside the Rovers warily, Sam is approached by his dad and Toyah, and he instantly senses their concern.

On Thursday, October 1, having witnessed Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) sharing a serious conversation with Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), Christina jumps at the opportunity to quiz him on Rachel's murder case. After talking business, Christina starts to ask about the investigation, but Tim is not forthcoming with information, and Christina fails to get any answers to her questions.
