Coronation Street's Eva Price Returns as New Rovers Return Landlady

Coronation Street fans have been given their first glimpse of Eva Price's return, with the character set to make a dramatic comeback next week. Eva, played by Catherine Tyldesley, has not been seen on the ITV soap since 2018, but will return as part of a new family unit.

Viewers will be introduced to Eva's husband Ben Driscoll, played by Aaron McCusker, who surprises her by revealing he has bought the Rovers Return and that she is the new landlady. The role has previously been held by soap legends such as Bet Lynch, Liz McDonald and the recently-departed Jenny Bradley.

In a new teaser trailer released by ITV, Eva and Ben waste no time settling into the pub and throwing a huge opening party. However, things quickly take a turn when Ben's mother Maggie, played by Pauline McLynn, arrives with some shocking news for Eva.

Catherine Tyldesley admitted she had been asked to make a comeback before but that it had never been the right time. Speaking to The Mirror, she said: 'I really meant what I said when I left, that I would love to come back, because Eva is so much fun to play. And it felt really serendipitous.'

Eva's return will see her reunited with her siblings and she will arrive with her daughter Susie and Ben's two sons Will and Ollie as part of a blended family. Ollie has already been seen getting close to Dee-Dee Bailey in recent weeks, although Dee-Dee recently announced her departure from the show.
