Coronation Street villain Jodie Ramsey is set to take her campaign against her own father to a terrifying new level, tampering with his medication in a bid to keep him quiet.
Jodie, played by Olivia Frances-Brown, has been spiralling since her dad Doug (Steve Evets) reappeared, threatening to expose her twisted plot to torment half-sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) and steal her family.
Doug was earlier implied to have been admitted to a psychiatric ward by Jodie, where he was treated for bipolar disorder. It was there that Shona reunited with her estranged father earlier this year, and he warned her not to trust a word her sister says.
Jodie's dark escalation
Since Doug's absence, Jodie's scheming has turned decidedly darker. She has already endangered Shona's premature daughter baby Harper by pouring boiling water into her bath, and almost caused a house fire by intentionally placing a burnt cake back while Shona slept on the sofa, all part of a plan to make Shona look like she cannot cope as a mum.
Jodie has also been keeping a stolen gun in the house and assaulting Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien). Fans have taken to social media in droves to complain that the plot has 'gone too far'.
Doug's dangerous discovery
Next week, Jodie is seen entering with a huge bunch of flowers, pretending they are a gift from her date. Shona is impressed, but when she tells David she learned from Mary (Patti Clare) that Jodie bought the flowers herself, David confirms her date was cancelled while she was in the salon.
It is just another manipulation. And when Doug gets involved, it does not end well for him. Jodie rummages through Doug's belongings and swaps his anti-psychotic drugs for ordinary painkillers.
The question now is what Jodie's meddling will do to Doug, as the walls close in on the dangerous schemer.
