A Coronation Street resident is shot at David and Shona Platt's house during a gun showdown with Jodie Ramsey, in scenes set to air on Thursday night (October 8). ITV has released a first look at the chaos, showing a desperate Jodie pointing a gun at David and Shona in their living room.
Jodie's Obsession Takes a Deadly Turn
Jodie, now dubbed Corrie's "single white female", has proven she will stop at nothing to steal her sister Shona's life and take her husband. After trying to seduce her brother-in-law David, Shona arrives at the house and comes face-to-face with her sibling.
Just when it looked like Jodie had finally turned David's head, Shona confronts her sister about her obsession with her husband and family. But after months of mind games and manipulation, Jodie whips out a gun and suggests she's willing to go as far as to kill in order to get what she wants.
Gunshot Rings Out
David and Shona, convinced that it's not a real gun, challenge Jodie but things take a terrible turn. After a scramble, a gunshot rings out. Someone is seen sprawled out on the floor, apparently shot. However, it's not known who has been hit with a potentially fatal bullet.
Jodie, played by Olivia Frances Brown, has been vying for the affection of David (Jack P Shepherd) and trying to destroy Shona (Julia Goulding)'s life. For instance, she has been trying to make her look increasingly unreliable as a mother.
Unraveling Scheme
Viewers saw Jodie secretly fill a baby bath for David and Shona's newborn Harper, in a bid to frame Shona as a parent putting their baby in danger. She's also been playing hidden recordings of Harper crying to gaslight Shona into thinking she is losing her mind.
But things have started to unravel for Jodie as Bethany Platt has rumbled Jodie's cruel campaign against her sister. She managed to catch Jodie playing around with a recording of baby Harper crying. But Jodie managed to deter Bethany by threatening to reveal Bethany's affair with her mum Sarah's (Tina O'Brien) ex-boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). She played a recording of Kit speaking to Bethany after they slept together. Can Jodie be stopped?
