Coronation Street fans have predicted a steamy affair between Fiz Brown and cobbles resident Kevin Webster, branding it the 'ultimate betrayal' that will leave Tyrone Dobbs livid.
Fiz and Tyrone's Date Night Disappointment
Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) has been a staple on the soap since her debut in 2001, becoming one of the show's most beloved characters. The factory worker has been involved in several major storylines, from her marriage to Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) to daughter Hope's (Isabella Flanagan) antics. Recently, Fiz and Tyrone have been enjoying date nights to keep the spark alive. However, in Friday's episode (July 10), Fiz was left unimpressed when Tyrone failed to compliment her.
Ross Wilkes' Arrival and Affair Speculation
Things took a dramatic turn when Tyrone's biological father, Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield), showed up, leaving Tyrone stunned. Now, viewers suspect Fiz could be set for a shock affair with Tyrone's best mate Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell). On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person wrote: 'Wild theory, but I think Fiz could have an affair. We know Corrie doesn't keep couples happy for long…' Another chimed in: 'Kevin!' A third added: 'Imagine! The ultimate betrayal.' Echoing their thoughts, another penned: 'I wouldn't be mad, Fiz deserves a juicy storyline.'
Kevin Webster's Recent Turmoil
Kevin himself has had a difficult past 12 months. Last year, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, turning his life upside down. Then, his wife Abi (Sally Carman) cheated on him with his estranged relative Carl (Jonathan Howard). Additionally, his sister Debbie (Sue Devaney) is living with young-onset vascular dementia.
Jennie McAlpine Reflects on Her Role
In 2024, Fiz actress Jennie McAlpine reflected on her tenure in Weatherfield on Good Morning Britain. When asked if she has any input into her character, she replied: 'No, and I don't think I'd want to really because we have such a brilliant team and it's massive. There are researchers, storyliners, and the actual scriptwriters and producers. They come up with things, and have been coming up with things, for over 60 years, and I think you just have to trust them.' She added: 'Some things you think 'don't know' maybe work better than you even thought they would, and some things you think will be brilliant but don't go so well, so I think you've got to trust them and that's life on the cobbles. You never know what's going to happen with your character.'
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
