Lily Platt's warnings about Jodie Ramsey's gun have been dismissed by her parents David and Shona, leaving fans predicting that the teenager may lash out. The worry comes after Lily tried to expose Jodie's lies but was ignored.
Jodie's secret trinket box
Jodie Ramsey arrived in Coronation Street earlier this year as the long-lost sister of Shona Platt. She has since settled at No.8 but has repeatedly tried to come between Shona and David. Viewers have also seen her keep a trinket box containing items taken from other residents, including Bernie Winter-Alahan, Brian Packham and DS Lisa Connor-Swain. Lily previously discovered the box, and Shona's sister Sarah also found it after killing Theo Silverton. Sarah was then attacked by Jodie, who left her for dead.
Lily later confronted Jodie about having a gun, but Jodie brushed it off. The teenager then told David about the weapon in the trinket box. David had learned of the box during a prison visit to Sarah, who mentioned it before her attack.
Parents ignore Lily
When Shona confronted Jodie after Sarah confessed who attacked her, she initially kicked Jodie out before having a change of heart. This left Lily worried, as she had already tried to warn her parents. In Tuesday's (July 28) episode, David and Shona searched for the gun but could not find it. Jodie presented them with a fake weapon, putting them at ease, and they forgave her. Lily was furious and called Jodie a 'weirdo'.
The episode ended with Jodie reaching on top of the kitchen cupboards to retrieve the real gun and leaving through the kitchen door, hiding it in a blanket.
Fan fears for Lily
Fans have taken to social media to express concern for Lily, believing she may go off the rails due to her parents' neglect. @sarahlawson84 said: "At this rate I reckon Lily is more likely to go off the rails than Hope. David and Shona do not give a single damn about that kid! Just act like she’s an inconvenience #Corrie."
@ThomasR14336083 commented: "Good that Lily isn't buying Jodie's lies. Pity David & Shona are gullible to accept it. #Corrie."
@WhoPotterVian added: "Kind of funny how David and Shona trust Jodie's word over the fake gun over their own daughter Lily. #Corrie."
