The troubled youngster abruptly left the cobbles, leaving her flat unlocked and love interest Bobby concerned. After reporting her missing to PC Craig Tinker, Bobby grew suspicious of Roy Cropper, who admitted catching Lauren stealing and then let her go.
In upcoming scenes, DS Lisa Swain returns to investigate, with suspicion falling on Daniel Osbourne and Roy. However, fans are not convinced and instead point to Bobby. On Friday's episode, Bobby told Carla Connor, 'I just find it hard to accept the fact she’s not coming back,' using the past tense, which viewers found suspicious. One fan tweeted, 'How would Bobby know that Lauren’s not coming back? Does he know something?'
Speculation also surrounds Bobby's father, Rob Donovan, who killed Tina McIntyre in 2014. With recent references to the past storyline, fans predict Rob could return.
