Coronation Street fans believe they have spotted newcomer Marco Rhodes' Weatherfield lookalike, which could spell trouble for Summer Spellman.
Last week, Summer found herself chatting to Marco when he complimented her on her drawing while they were both in the café. But when she headed to the loo, Marco ripped the page out of Summer’s notebook and left.
She was later annoyed to pass the tattoo shop and notice her drawing on display in the window and confronted Marco over his theft. But she was pleasantly surprised and explained that it was just an excuse to see her again, and that he’d like to buy her drawing, before suggesting they met for a drink.
Date takes a turn
They agreed to a date, and despite her earlier reservations, Summer appeared to be getting on well with Marco. However, when Summer leaned in for a kiss, her date pulled away and rushed off, blaming a meeting with his probation officer as he was fitted with an ankle tag.
As he hurried off, Asha walked down the street and joined Summer as they shared their dating woes. In the end, Asha and Summer made a pact that if they're both single when they're 40, they'll marry each other instead.
Fans spot a resemblance
But it's fair to say that Corrie fans have found themselves not trusting Marco just yet, despite him seeing Summer again, and apologising for dashing off to see his probation officer. And some have even spotted he looks like her ex, Aaron Sanford.
Sharing the realisation on X (formerly Twitter), @sam_Fletcher78 said: "Someone mentioned Marco and Aaron look alike, now I can’t unsee it - are they related? #corrie." @jeromejazzy questioned: "Could they be related somehow? (In the show)." @NatashaLKirxsu replied: "Omg I've only just realised. This doesn't bode well for summer."
@Sjl170 echoed: "Yes, I’ve been thinking he looks like someone else but I couldn’t put my finger on it." @J_WBerry shared: "She has a type! Summer has a habit of picking wrong'uns, so this will end badly. I doubt Todd and George will be very impressed with Mr Ankle Tag, when they meet him."
Another twist theory
However, it comes after other fans thought another twist could end up being on the cards for the new lovebirds. @LadyReignFC commented: "I thought the tattoo boy looked like Summer but him not wanting to kiss makes me thinks they're siblings. Maybe even twins. That would be such an interesting storyline for Summer, especially since she's lost everything. They have good on-screen chemistry/sibling banter too #corrie." @molly_pw11240 replied: "I was thinking that too. He also knew her name last episode without being told."
@Packology admitted: "I really hope this is NOT the case, but it wouldn't be the first soap to have an incest storyline (Brookside did it). Please no." @Wee_Westie29 added: "It would be a good story to go down, especially as Summer was originally adopted by Billy’s former friend Drew Spellman, as Billy was originally Summer’s godfather before he became her guardian.
