Coronation Street fans believe they may have uncovered a clue about which of the five potential murder victims will not be killed off. The ITV soap's murder mystery, teased in a flashforward earlier this year, is set to conclude in April with one character dying.
The five possible victims are Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh, Carl Webster, Theo Silverton and Jodie Ramsey. However, a social media post from the MAMMA MIA! accounts has led some viewers to conclude that Carl Webster will survive.
Photographs shared online showed Corrie cast members, including Carl actor Jonathan Howard, alongside former co-star Sara Poyzer, who played businesswoman Fiona. The caption suggested Poyzer will be returning to Weatherfield, with filming beginning soon and scenes airing later this summer.
Fans took this as a sign that Carl must still be alive in the summer, although the post is not officially confirmed by the soap. One viewer commented: "Dodgy Fiona making a comeback then?!" Another said: "Not the official Mamma Mia account basically saying that Jonathan Howard is still filming (meaning Carl survives post April 23rd) or that the current Donna (Sara Poyzer) is about to join Corrie was not on my 2026 bingo card!"
However, the article notes that Fiona's return could happen regardless of Carl's fate, as she has links to Ronnie Bailey and may want her money back. The murder is scheduled to take place in April, while Fiona is not expected on screen until the summer, meaning the clue may not rule Carl out definitively.
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
