Coronation Street fans 'solve' mystery caller harassing Jodie after Corriedale
Corrie fans 'rumble' who is calling Jodie after crossover

Coronation Street fans are convinced they have uncovered the identity of the mysterious and menacing caller harassing newcomer Jodie Ramsey, with theories strongly pointing to a lingering connection from the recent historic Emmerdale crossover.

The Sinister Calls and a Panic Attack

In Monday's episode of the ITV soap, Jodie, played by a new actress, was seen visibly distressed as her phone rang incessantly. The character, who recently arrived on the cobbles as the long-lost sister of Shona Platt, ignored the calls before eventually suffering a panic attack. The concerning scene prompted Shona's husband, David Platt, to invite the troubled Jodie to stay with them at Number 8, though the episode offered no clues about the caller's identity.

Fan Theories Point to Corriedale Villain

Taking to online forums like Reddit, viewers were quick to speculate. A prominent theory suggests the caller is Graham Foster, the Emmerdale villain revealed to be alive during the 'Corriedale' crossover special earlier this month. Jodie was first introduced to audiences tied up in the back of Graham's van. "Calling it now it's Graham Foster!" wrote one fan. "Surely he wouldn't have just let her go after all that!"

Other fans questioned the practicality, noting if she was a captive, she likely wouldn't have kept her phone, but the compelling link to the crossover persists.

Alternative Suspects and Soap History

Not all theories are centred on Graham. Some viewers suspect the calls could be from an abusive ex-partner Jodie has fled. Another compelling guess is sex trafficker Nathan Curtis, given Shona's own history with the villain; she was instrumental in saving Bethany Platt from him years ago. "It would be interesting if it were Nathan," mused a fan, though others pointed out the character is presumably still in prison.

The sudden arrival of Jodie as Shona's previously unmentioned sister has also raised eyebrows. "Shona's sister just came out of nowhere, why now? Must be more to the story!" commented one viewer, referencing the soap's frequent use of long-lost relatives like Bernie Winter being revealed as DC Kit Green's mother or Cassie Plummer as Tyrone Dobbs's biological mother.

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX from 7am.
