Coronation Street fans believe the soap has overlooked one of Weatherfield's most heartbreaking deaths, as they mark ten years since Kylie Platt was fatally stabbed on the cobbles. The character, played by Paula Lane, died on July 15, 2016, after being attacked by teenager Clayton Hibbs.
Kylie's Tragic Death Remembered
In 2016, David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) said a devastating farewell to his wife Kylie after she was stabbed in broad daylight. Clayton Hibbs, a former acquaintance of Callum Logan, was responsible for the attack. Kylie had previously killed Callum when he was assaulting her sister-in-law, Sarah Platt, and Callum is the son of David's now-wife, Shona.
At the time of her death, Kylie had just announced plans to move to Barbados with her family to live with her sister, Becky. Her excitement was cut short when she saw her friend Gemma Winter being assaulted by Clayton. Kylie intervened to help Gemma but was stabbed in the chest. Clayton fled, leaving David to cradle his dying wife.
Fans React on Social Media

They wrote: "I’ve only just remembered that it’s been exactly 10 years since Kylie died. In my opinion, this is the most heartbreaking death I’ve seen on the show. The acting was heartbreaking and emotional and I really liked David and Kylie. When the episode first came out, it did make me cry lots."
Any_Needleworker_966 replied: "How has it been 10 years already??" Key_Bus_1255 commented: "I forgot too! OMG 10 years?? I remember watching this on TV, and crying my eyes out! I loved David and Kylie together, and this was so sad to watch!!" wallcavities added: "Oh don't remind me. I was so distraught that day."
