Coronation Street viewers believe they have worked out who will next take in troubled teenager Lucy Parkinson, with former cobbles favourite Daisy Midgeley tipped for a return. The prediction comes after Lucy was moved into respite care following clashes with her foster carer Sally Metcalfe.
Lucy (Anya Lewis) made her debut on the ITV soap earlier this year as the daughter of Tim Metcalfe's (Joe Duttine) estranged cousin Richie (Nathan Sussex). After meeting for the first time in years, Richie confided in Tim about his marriage problems with wife Rachel, revealing they were going through a rocky patch. Things took a dramatic turn when Tim went round to Richie's house only to find him in a blood-stained shirt and Rachel dead on the floor.
Lucy's dark side and foster care turmoil
Richie was soon arrested for the murder of his wife and sent to prison. Lucy, meanwhile, moved in with Tim and Sally (Sally Dynevor) at No.8 and was fostered by the couple, but she has already shown a dark side, often manipulating those around her.
The youngster has also been clashing with Sally, who accidentally hit Lucy after her Halloween prank went wrong, with Sally thinking she was an intruder. As a result, Lucy got social services involved and, much to her shock, she was moved into respite care.
Christina reveals family secret
It has also been previously revealed that Lucy is actually Christina Boyd's (Amy Robbins) biological granddaughter. In Friday's episode (October 30), Christina revealed the truth to Lucy, leaving her stunned.
But now, soap fans reckon a former cobbles favourite could be heading back to become Lucy's new guardian. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: "Another cheery episode! That Lucy is something else." Someone else added: "I wonder who she'll move in with next." A third chimed in and predicted Christina's daughter Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan): "Daisy should come back and have her." Another fan penned: "That's a good suggestion."
Daisy's history on the cobbles
Daisy first appeared on the ITV soap in 2020 as the stepdaughter of Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) and quickly became a firm favourite with fans. Over the years, she played a part in several big storylines, from a harrowing acid attack storyline to shock affairs.
In January 2025, actress Charlotte announced she had quit the soap and a few months later, in May, Daisy said her goodbyes to the cobbles in explosive fashion. Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
