Coronation Street fans fear Carla Connor could be killed off in kidnap plot

Coronation Street viewers are growing increasingly concerned that Carla Connor, played by Alison King, may be killed off in the current storyline. The Underworld boss is being held hostage by corrupt police officer Becky Swain, who returned from the dead earlier this year and has been trying to win back her wife Lisa from Carla.

In recent episodes, Carla managed to briefly escape from Becky's wardrobe and knock her out, but was recaptured. Becky has since withheld Carla's kidney medication, threatening her life. Becky collapsed from a head wound and lied to Lisa, claiming she was attacked by a gang.

Fans have taken to social media to express their fears. One wrote: 'The constant focus of Carla not getting her medication is making me very nervous that her 20th year on the cobbles is actually going to be her exit.' Another commented on the character's history of trauma, noting she has been kidnapped multiple times before, including by her late husband Tony Gordon in 2010 and her brother Rob Donovan earlier this year.

While some viewers were thrilled to see Carla fight back, others suspect a further twist as the soap prepares for a crossover with Emmerdale. The storyline continues to unfold on ITV1, airing Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm.
