Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price, was spotted at Manchester's Piccadilly station on Tuesday as she travelled to London for the National Television Awards. The 34-year-old actress, who is set to leave the soap later this year, was joined by co-star Shayne Ward, who plays her on-screen love interest Aidan Connor.
Catherine wore a statement plaid knee-length coat over a simple long-sleeved top and black skinny jeans, accessorising with heeled suede ankle boots and black-framed glasses. Shayne, 33, opted for a leather jacket and grey T-shirt, carrying his suit bag as they made their way to the train.
The actress announced her departure from the show in December 2017, describing it as a 'difficult decision'. She told The Sun: 'Coronation Street has been a dream job for me which is why this was such a difficult decision to leave. Eva has been such fun to play over the last seven years, and who knows, one day she might storm the cobbles of Weatherfield again.'
Her exit is expected to air in early summer, with show bosses promising an 'explosive' storyline. A spokesperson said: 'Nobody will see this coming. Viewers are going to be absolutely stunned.'
Also spotted at the station were co-stars Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, and her boyfriend Tom Leech, as well as Jennie McAlpine, Faye Brookes, Sair Khan, and Julia Goulding.
