Corrie Christmas spoilers: bleak Jodie, Debbie storylines revealed

Coronation Street's 2026 Christmas episodes will bring a bleak festive season for several residents, according to hints from cast members and behind-the-scenes shoots. While the cobbles will see fake snow fall for a community celebration, the storylines are set to take a dramatic and emotional turn.

Jodie Ramsey's Christmas downfall

Actress Olivia Frances-Brown has teased that her character Jodie Ramsey will face a dramatic peak in her storyline, following next week's shooting. Speaking cryptically, she said: 'It's gonna be a bleak Christmas for Jodie, that's all I'm going to say,' adding that she thinks viewers will enjoy it.

However, this will not be a final end for Jodie, as Olivia has signed a year's contract to remain on the Street. The question remains whether her Christmas downfall will mark the start of a redemption arc or a longer reign of terror.

Debbie Webster's last Christmas

The festive season will also be bittersweet for the Webster family, with Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) determined to be full of joy for what is expected to be her last Christmas. Actor Jonathan Howard, who plays Debbie's son Carl, confirmed sad times ahead as her dementia 'ramps up'.

'We've just got the latest scripts for the Christmas storyline. Carl is turning 40 just before Christmas and I think everyone is aware that it's potentially Debbie's last Christmas,' he said. 'You don't know how long with dementia someone's going to survive, but there is a feeling this is the last Christmas that she is herself.'

Other festive plotlines

Other potential storylines include a romantic development for Glenda Shuttleworth, hinted at by actress Jodie Prenger, and the explosive secret that Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) has slept with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), which could come to light over Christmas dinner.

Fans are also hoping for a pleasant Christmas for Swarla, the couple temporarily destroyed by an unnamed character, while Carla (Alison King) may still be locked in her business feud with Idris Nazir (Junade Khan). As with ITV soaps in 2026, viewers can expect slow motion, incidental music and possibly a flashforward.
