In a dramatic Christmas Day episode of Coronation Street, a beloved character was left unconscious on the cobbles after a series of revelations. Daniel Osbourne, played by Rob Mallard, was seen lying face down in a ginnel as the episode drew to a close, following a confrontation with teenager Will Driscoll.
The festive storyline centred on Eva Price, who returned to Weatherfield with her husband Ben and his family. A secret emerged when Maggie, Ben's mother, presented a letter as a Christmas gift, revealing that Eva had had an abortion. Maggie accused Eva of having an affair with Adam Barlow, but Eva later confessed that the baby was Ben's, explaining she had terminated the pregnancy during a rough patch in their relationship when Ben was not taking her calls.
Ben punched Adam after the revelation, but the situation escalated further when Will, who had been drinking, confronted Megan about her fake relationship with Daniel. Megan stormed out of the Rovers Return, and Daniel was later found unconscious. Meanwhile, Ben threw Maggie out of the house after she accused Eva of being responsible for the loss of a grandchild.
The episode also touched on Eva's past, including the birth of her daughter Susie and her departure from Weatherfield in 2018. Earlier in the week, Adam had seen Eva upset and learned of her secret, which she had kept from Ben for a long time. Despite the turmoil, Eva and Ben shared a dance to Fairytale of New York and apologised to each other before the final dramatic moments.
