Coronation Street Yasmeen Nazir exit update disappoints Alya

Yasmeen Nazir's departure from Coronation Street last year continues to resonate, with a new update revealing her reaction to granddaughter Alya's decision to sell her share of Speed Daal.

Yasmeen, played by Shelley King, left the cobbles to volunteer at a modern slavery charity in London. Before leaving, she sold her shares in the restaurant to Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), who now runs it with Alya (Sair Khan).

Alya's Decision to Sell

During Monday's episode (August 10), now streaming on ITVX, Alya told Leanne she planned to sell her share of Speed Daal, struggling to balance the business with her legal work. Leanne was visibly surprised.

"I want to sell my share of the business," Alya revealed. Her boyfriend, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), explained: "It's partly my fault. Alya's been running herself ragged working at the solicitors and trying to keep this place going at the same time. It's too much for her."

Yasmeen's Disappointment

Alya continued: "He's right. And I've spoken to my gran about it. Obviously, she's a little bit disappointed, but she's put me in contact with an old friend of hers who might be interested in making us an offer."

Addressing her uncle, Idris (Junade Khan), Alya added: "I know that we talked about if I was ever to sell, you had some contacts who might be interested, but gran goes way back with this bloke, and she was pretty insistent that I get in touch with him."

Alya showed the prospective buyer around Speed Daal on Tuesday (August 11), but could Idris impact the sale?

Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
