Coronation Street fans will finally get an update on Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) after the character has been absent for eight months. The Platt family matriarch was last seen in November 2025 and has since been mentioned as staying with Gail Platt in France.
Birthday video confirms Audrey's absence
In Monday night's episode, the Platts film a video to send Audrey for her birthday, confirming she is still away from Weatherfield. This comes as the family's lives descend into chaos, with Sarah Platt's (Tina O'Brien) killer secret about to catch up with her.
Viewers know that Sarah killed Theo Silverton earlier this year after a confrontation on scaffolding outside his flat. She hit him with a metal bar, knocking him to the ground below. Sarah recently confessed to her boyfriend, detective constable Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Sarah's arrest imminent
Next week, Kit tries to extract information on the investigation from McClaughlin but gets nothing, raising McClaughlin's suspicions. Though Kit believes evidence points to Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Sarah is safe, police arrive to arrest Sarah as the Platts finish their video for Audrey.
Later in the week, Sarah is charged with Theo's murder. Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) warns Kit that he is under suspicion too and must stop protecting Sarah to keep his job.
