Next week on Coronation Street, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) turns her attention to a new target, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), as she continues her manipulative games. Meanwhile, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) prepares to leave Weatherfield, and Debbie Webster's (Sue Devaney) dementia symptoms intensify.
Jodie's schemes escalate
Jodie, known for her obsessive behaviour, begins to eye up Kit, mostly to spite Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon). As she makes a move on the crestfallen copper, she also ramps up her vitriolic treatment of her sister, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).
On Tuesday, September 1, Bethany tells Jodie she's worried about Kit's mood swings, and Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) is forced to confront the idea of telling Bethany everything. Later, Jodie tells Shona and Bethany that she was given community service for her assault on Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien).
On Wednesday, September 2, Shona struggles in David Platt's (Jack P Shepherd) absence, leading Jodie to step in. After overhearing Bethany arrange a date, Jodie tries to rain on her parade, and when Bethany snaps back, Jodie turns her attention to Kit, asking him on a date.
Debbie's dementia struggle
Debbie's dementia symptoms continue to intensify, and Ronnie Bailey's (Vinta Morgan) behaviour doesn't make it easier. On Monday, August 31, Ronnie offers to take over a meeting with suppliers, but Debbie assures him she's up to it. Later, at the hotel, Ronnie tells her she's still wearing her slippers, and a confused and distressed Debbie suggests they go home.
On Tuesday, September 1, still in debt to dodgy Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), Ronnie tells Carl that he's thinking about stealing Idris's car to wipe their slate clean. Carl manages to snatch the key and hands it to Ronnie, but he's in two minds about how to proceed.
On Wednesday, September 2, Idris is furious at the loss of his car and accuses Ronnie before flooring him with a punch. Carl pleads with Ronnie to let it go for the sake of Debbie.
Emotional goodbyes and family secrets
On Sunday, August 30, Nina prepares to leave Weatherfield, inviting her friends Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) for goodbye drinks at the Rover's. She later shares an emotional moment with Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) in Seb Franklin's (Harry Visinoni) memorial garden before heading to Whitby with Roy.
Meanwhile, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and Gemma are rocked by a discovery about their family. On Tuesday, September 1, Gemma stands by her mum's side as they face an uncertain future following the revelation of a family secret.
Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) continues to struggle through her recovery post-stroke. Despite best friend Lauren Bolton's (Cait Fitton) best intentions, Betsy admits to Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) that she's lonely. On Wednesday, September 2, Betsy is able to stand for the first time since her stroke.
Dramatic confrontations
On Thursday, September 3, Debbie relives her past as a hairdresser and treats Bethany to a full 80's makeover, though Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) comes to the rescue as she picks up her scissors. As Debbie is overcome with confusion, she rushes out and suffers a meltdown when she finds Ronnie drinking at the hotel bar.
As Bethany tries to enjoy a drama-free second date with Roman, her hopes are dashed when Jodie and Kit arrive, forcing her to explain the dramatic backstory to him before she clashes with Jodie in front of the whole bistro.
On Friday, September 4, Jodie continues to manipulate Shona as she struggles with Harper alone. Suggesting Shona get some sleep, she awakens to find Jodie and Kit sharing a glass of wine downstairs and warns Kit that getting involved with Jodie is deeply dangerous. Kevin and Abi take Debbie out to discuss her birthday plans, though Ronnie suggests they aim for low-key given her recent symptoms. Elsewhere, Lauren forces Betsy to go out for lunch, but an off-colour joke from Debbie when she knocks some cutlery off the table leaves her mortified.
