Cassie's dangerous exit
Unable to match Ross Wilkes, defeated by his manipulations and disowned by her loved ones, Cassie Plummer prepares to leave Weatherfield under a dark cloud. When Ross, the man who paid for sex and impregnated her as a child, catches up with her before she leaves, she may not make it off the cobbles alive.
On Monday, waking up on the sofa of No.4, Cassie laments to Tim about Steve dumping her and Tyrone disowning her. After an emotional goodbye with Hope, Ruby and Dorin, Cassie prepares to leave for a cleaning job on a cruise ship. Fiz gives her a family photo. Cassie asks Steve to meet her in the precinct, but Ross pulls up and offers a lift, quickly locking the doors once she is in the car.
Dylan attacked
Lauren Bolton still wants blood from Dylan Wilson over what happened to Betsy Swain. Brody Michaelis is on her side. When Ryan Connor organises a clandestine meeting between Betsy and Dylan, they are caught by Lisa Connor-Swain who ejects them. Later, Dylan is found unconscious and taken to hospital.
On Tuesday, Lauren tells Brody that Dylan needs to pay. Brody confronts Dylan, who accuses him of jealousy. Nina Lucas intervenes and later finds Dylan unconscious in the precinct.
On Wednesday, Sean Tully confronts Brody, accusing him of attacking Dylan, who intervenes and swears Sean has it wrong. Lauren leaves Betsy alone and returns to find her having wet herself and sobbing to a furious Carla Connor-Swain.
Sienna's mum arrives
The truth behind Sienna Milburn’s behaviour becomes apparent when her dementia-suffering mum, Sadie, arrives in Weatherfield. Debbie Webster and Ronnie Bailey are struck by the window into the future. Alya Nazir endeavours to help Sienna.
On Monday, Debbie tries to help a lost woman named Sadie who snaps at her. Later she sees her on the street; Sienna rushes over to help her mum, who does not recognise her and lashes out. Asha tries to help but Sienna turns her down.
On Tuesday, Asha and Sienna discuss care options. Ronnie overhears and regrets taking Debbie away, later promising her he will employ a carer when the time comes.
Kit's investigation
Kit Green takes aim at Gary Windass. He receives a hard drive containing data from Gary’s phone. Bethany Platt questions him and Kit tells her about Gary’s involvement in Theo’s murder. He discovers something intriguing within the data.
On Thursday, Kit circles Gary, teasing him with something he has learned, suggesting Gary visit him later to find out.
Tim's cousin visits
Tim Metcalfe’s cousin Richie arrives. Tim comes across Richie by chance and invites him over for a lads night with Sally away. Steve bristles at having to share his best friend. Richie later tells Tim how unhappy his marriage has become, and Tim offers him a place to stay.
Other developments
Fiz Dobbs is deeply suspicious of Ross. She shuts down conversation when Ross announces his intention to move nearby, and later watches as Ross struggles to keep his story about Cassie’s departure straight when questioned by Steve. Fiz is cold with Ross as he heads off for his first day in his new job.
Sally Metcalfe has a difficult conversation with Joanie Michaelis about the dangers of strangulation during sex.
Asha and Bernie try to support Sienna. Bernie later tells Dev how badly freaked out Sadie was, as an uneasy Ronnie listens in.
