Coronation Street aired emotional scenes on Monday night as Sarah Platt finally reunited with Todd Grimshaw in prison. Sarah, played by Tina O'Brien, is behind bars after being charged with the murder of her best friend's abusive partner, Theo Silverton, earlier this year.
When Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, found out, he cut Sarah out completely, especially after she initially let his daughter Summer go to prison instead. But days after Sarah split from partner DC Kit Green, she asked Todd to visit, and he accepted.
Emotional Reunion and Bullying Revelation
During the visit, Todd noticed bruising on Sarah's face, and she admitted she had been attacked by an inmate. On the verge of tears, she said she couldn't stop the attacks, and Todd replied: "Well... I won't sit back and let my mate be bullied."
When Sarah reminded him he recently said they'd never be friends again, Todd said: "I had a lot of time to think while I was away. I know how scared you must've been. I still don't understand how you could let Summer be in here. You don't need to explain or make excuses again, I don't think I'll ever get that bit of it but I know you and you're a good person. You've always been a brilliant mate. You messed up big time. But I love you." Sarah replied: "I love you too, Grimshaw."
Cellmate's Plea and Todd's Ultimatum
Sarah's cellmate Kacey, who had protected her in the attack, then revealed her son hadn't visited because he had been arrested, and she pressured Sarah to get Kit to help. Later, Todd called Sarah and begged her to tell Kit about the attacks. When she refused, he warned: "If you don't, I will."

Todd first appeared on Coronation Street in 2001 as the son of Eileen Grimshaw and brother of Jason. He and Sarah had a teenage relationship that ended when Todd realised he was gay. Sarah gave birth to their son Billy, who died a day after being born prematurely.
