Coronation Street viewers are convinced they know what has happened to Cassie Plummer after Ross trapped her in his car and sped off to an unknown location.
Cassie first appeared on the cobbles in 2023 as Tyrone Dobbs's estranged mother. Last month, Tyrone's father Ross arrived and left Cassie horrified. It soon emerged that Ross had paid Cassie for sex when she was just 15, which led to her becoming pregnant with Tyrone.
Despite Cassie's obvious distress, Tyrone was eager to build a relationship with his father, and Ross was quickly welcomed into the family. He also began a romance with Tracy Barlow. But last week, Cassie revealed the truth about Ross to her family, and although they were shocked, they chose to forgive him after he apologised. Later, Ross threatened to kill Cassie if she ever interfered in his life again.
Poison plan backfires
In an attempt to get rid of Ross, Cassie tried to poison him by putting painkillers in a drink, hoping he would fail a drug test for a new job and leave Weatherfield for good. The plan backfired when Ross realised what she had done and gave the drink to Tracy instead. Tracy was rushed to hospital, and everyone assumed Cassie was responsible, leaving her heartbroken as her family turned their backs on her.
Ross traps Cassie in his car
In Monday's episode (August 3), Cassie decided to leave Weatherfield and said her goodbyes, taking a photo of Tyrone and his children and a bag of belongings. Ross offered her a lift and confessed that he had poisoned Tracy. Then, in a horrifying twist, he locked the car door with Cassie inside and drove off to an unknown location.
Later, Ross returned to Tyrone's, claiming he had not realised Cassie had left. It was then revealed that he had the photo of Tyrone and the kids in his possession.
Fans fear the worst
Now, fans are worried about Cassie's fate. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person wrote: "Omg what has Ross done to Cassie?!" Someone else added: "Think he’s killed her but I hope not because I can’t take another murder investigation."
A third chimed in: "Keeping her captive probably." Another penned: "Got her locked up somewhere." A fifth wrote: "Ross having the photo doesn’t make me feel very well about Cassie’s fate."
