Coronation Street fans have 'worked out' Celeste Butterfield's secret daughter, and they believe she is already a familiar face on the cobbles. Celeste (Frances Barber) made her debut on the ITV soap earlier this year, arriving at Shuttleworth's funeral parlour to arrange her own funeral.
Celeste confided in Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) that she has just weeks to live after a terminal cancer diagnosis and wants a fabulous funeral inspired by Dolly Parton. It was then revealed that Celeste is actually the aunt of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).
Frosty Reception and Family Rift
Celeste was met with a frosty reception from Bernie, who insisted she wants nothing to do with her mum's twin due to a family rift. Even when Todd told her that Celeste has weeks to live, Bernie was not phased.
In Friday's episode (August 28), Bernie confided in Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) about why she doesn't like Celeste. According to Bernie, Celeste tore her family apart after she got Bernie's mum taken out of their dad's will "in a really sneaky way." She then apparently turned the entire family against Bernie's mum, with Bernie calling her aunt "evil."

Spoilers have already revealed that Celeste passes away soon. However, something is soon uncovered in the fallout of her death as a devastating family secret rocks Bernie and her loved ones. With more drama to come, fans can't help but predict a secret daughter twist is on the cards for Celeste.
On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: "Is the big secret that she's actually Bernie's mum? Or what about Carla." Someone else agreed: "Carla is a good idea, can see the resemblance." A third chimed in: "She's def hiding something. Could be!" Another wrote: "Celeste might have had Carla as a teen and gave her up for adoption?"
What Happens Next
Next week, following Celeste's death and a secret being uncovered, Dev comforts Bernie, as Gemma breaks the news to Kit. Gemma tells Bernie she will stand by her side no matter what and later on, Todd finds a letter from Celeste addressed to him.
Soon, Todd, Bernie, Kit, Gemma, Chesney (Sam Aston), Joseph, Dev, George (Tony Maudsley), Christina (Amy Robbins) and Asha (Tanisha Gorey) gather in the hotel bar for Celeste's remembrance party. Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
