Coronation Street fans react as Betsy's health crisis brings Connor-Swains back

Coronation Street fans have been quick to cast their verdict on a storyline yet to air as it marks a 'return' for their favourite family. It has been confirmed that there are more worrying times ahead for Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain as their daughter, Betsy, is rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after collapsing at home in the ITV soap next week.

Fans excited for Connor-Swain return

Viewers were hopeful to see the Connor-Swains get their happily ever after following their history-making wedding earlier this year. As fans know, their big day followed a turbulent time that included the return of Lisa's ex-wife, Becky Swain, shortly after Lisa and Carla got engaged and moved into their first home, No.6 Coronation Street.

After Becky nearly tore the pair apart, Lisa and Carla were reunited, and with the latter was seen excitedly booking her and Lisa's big day, which then took place in April. There was almost a hitch, as at first, the nuptials appeared to be off due to a flood, caused by Carl Webster, at the Chariot Square Hotel. But after some words of encouragement from Ryan Connor, Lisa formed a plan.

Wedding went ahead with witnesses

After convincing a disappointed Carla to ditch her duvet day, they headed to the hotel, and upon their arrival, Lisa surprised her wife-to-be by revealing that their wedding was going ahead, with Lisa's daughter, Betsy, Carla's nephew, Ryan, and her father-figure, Roy Cropper, as their witnesses. They were soon pronounced as wives, and the couple made Corrie history as it was the first time two women had successfully married in Weatherfield.

But rather than enjoying marital bliss, Lisa has already been busy at work, as the detective sergeant has been investigating the murder of Theo Silverton, whose lifeless body was found by Betsy on the night of her and Carla's wedding. And now, she'll face an anxious time as her teenage daughter is left fighting for her life.

New promo reveals ambulance scene

A new promo for what's ahead, shared on Corrie's YouTube channel, has now revealed the moment an ambulance drives away from No.6 Coronation Street, and an anxious Carla arriving at the hospital to find Lisa at Betsy's bedside. But what has happened to Betsy? And why does Dylan find himself in the firing line as her condition worsens? Corrie has teased that all will be revealed as while Lisa demands answers and accusations fly, Betsy tries to come to terms with her life-changing diagnosis.

Fan reactions mixed but mostly positive

Corrie fans were quick to respond to the first look at what's ahead, and while concerned for Betsy, they are keen to see the Connor-Swains back centre stage. @_kaitlynnnnnx said: "Omg CAN. NOT. WAIT.
