Coronation Street viewers are calling for the return of Evelyn Plummer as they fear Cassie Plummer may be killed off in a horror exit.
Exit storyline
Actress Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie, is leaving the ITV soap to take on the role of Miss Hannigan in the touring production of Annie. She has finished filming and her exit scenes are set to air next week.
Cassie has been struggling with the arrival of Ross Wilkes, revealed as Tyrone Dobbs' long-lost father. Ross has been welcomed into the family and has struck up a romance with Tracy Barlow.
Threat from Ross
In Wednesday's episode, Cassie revealed that Ross paid her for sex when she was 15, resulting in her falling pregnant with Tyrone. Ross later cornered her in a ginnel, threatening her to keep quiet if she wanted to live.
