The Rovers Return, a staple of Coronation Street since 1960, is opening its doors to fans for a limited time this summer. The iconic pub, first opened in 1902 as part of a chain owned by Newton & Ridley, has been a free house since 1995 and run by many memorable characters.
Exclusive Access to Studio 1
The Coronation Street Experience has announced that a limited number of tickets are available for a unique peek beyond the cobbles. Guests will step into Studio 1, home of the Rovers Return set, and have the chance to walk behind the bar and pose for an official photo.
Lou Black, SVP Brand Licensing, ITV Studios, said: "Although we know the cobbles are the star of the show, our tour operators, Continuum Attractions, are often asked for a look inside a real studio. So we thought what better set to show off than the Queen of the Street, the Rovers Return, it’s the absolute pinnacle for any soap fan to be able to stand behind our legendary bar."
Tour Details
The public tours reopened in March 2022 after Covid restrictions eased. In addition to the standard 90-minute tour of the MediaCityUK set, which includes Roy's Rolls, Audrey's hair salon, Weatherfield Police Station, and the Rovers Return, a special 'Star Tour' offers a chance to meet a mystery cast member, hear filming secrets, and take a picture. The limited tours will take place on Saturdays through August and early September.
