Coronation Street is set for a potential double exit following the affair between Daisy Midgeley and Ryan Connor. In upcoming scenes, Ryan begs Daisy to keep their night together secret from his girlfriend Alya Nazir, but Daisy deliberately exposes the truth while Alya listens, heartbroken. Alya tells Ryan they are finished and wants nothing more to do with him.
Now, viewers are questioning whether Alya will decide to leave Weatherfield for good, unable to face seeing Ryan every day. Alya lives with her grandmother Yasmeen Nazir, and the two share a strong bond. Yasmeen, having endured a nightmare with Geoff Metcalfe, would prioritise Alya's happiness over the family business, Speed Daal, which they could hire someone else to run.
Ryan Prescott, who plays Ryan Connor, explained his character's vulnerability to Daisy's manipulation. He said Ryan feels forgotten and is searching for purpose, with a part-time job in a pub, no real friends, and no prospects. Prescott added that Ryan knows he needs Alya more than she needs him, and he is furious when Daisy tells Alya, feeling a sense of inevitability about wrecking the relationship.
While Alya may forgive Ryan over time, if he gives up on the relationship and chooses not to fight for her, she may decide it's best to leave. Yasmeen could suggest they move away from the cobbles for a while, leading to a double exit for the characters.
