The trainee solicitor, played by Sair Khan, received an unwelcome phone call from someone named Rich, causing her to make a hasty exit from the Bistro with a worried expression.
Earlier in the week, Alya was seen speaking to a stranger in a car, demanding to be left alone. Later, she emerged from a passenger side door, slammed it, and looked frightened, while her boyfriend Adam Barlow appeared oblivious.
Fans on Reddit theorised that the storyline could involve Sharif Nazir, who left Weatherfield nearly a decade ago after his affair with Yasmeen's friend Sonia was exposed. The character was written out after actor Marc Anwar made racist social media posts. Some viewers suggested a recast, while others hoped the plot would not introduce another villain.
